Tapojärvi and its associated company ECOnsulting have developed a durable, fast-setting patching material for pothole patching. Geofix can be used to improve road safety and reduce tyre and rim damages. It also makes road maintenance more cost-efficient and reduces the carbon footprint of pothole patching.

The inorganic geopolymer material doesn’t contain oil-based raw materials, which makes it a more environmentally friendly option compared to traditional asphalt patching products.

As a collaboration with Destia, Geofix and its method of application have been developed and tested at publicly owned sites in various municipalities. Tapojärvi has also tested the product at mining and mill sites in the private sector.

Together, ECOnsulting and Destia have developed a towable vehicle that enables safer and more cost-efficient asphalt patching.

ECOnsulting has received funding from the European Regional Development Fund for the development of a prototype vehicle.
