Tapojärvi and Outokumpu Oyj have signed a ten-year agreement for ferrochrome and stainless steel slag handling, refractory brick recycling and refractory mass production.  

“We will continue our long-term cooperation with Tapojärvi Oy, focusing on process development, especially in terms of sustainability. Development activities will focus on optimizing metal enrichment, by-product development and minimizing environmental impacts such as lowering dust emissions.,”

Tapojärvi has been in charge of the tasks in question for more than ten years. The two-year construction and development period will be followed by ten years of production with renewed processes. Development work will start immediately and by 30 September 2025 the new processes are expected to be up and running.
